About the course:
This 8 week course will cover the first 7 lessons of the 'Madina System.' The Madina System includes Madina Book 1 and texts covering conversation and selected Ahadeeth.
Madina book 1 will be made available in PDF format with the lessons for Hadeeth and conversation emailed to students weekly.
There will be a midterm examination at the end of the fourth week and a review period and final examination at the end of the eighth week.
What you will learn in the Madinah Book 1 course:
- The main grammar and language points from each lesson
- The subcategories recommended in the instructor's guide
- Vocabulary words from each lesson
- The Arabic parts of speech will be introduced along with examples presented in complete sentences
Conversation
The conversation portion of the course will teach you how to communicate in different settings and environments. Topics like 'Umrah' and 'Getting acquainted' will give you the tools to actually communicate in classical Arabic!
Hadeeth Study
In the hadeeth portion of this course you will learn the eight ahadeeth recommended in the Madina system including manners of eating and giving salaams and the excellence of the strong believer. Each hadeeth will be memorized along with their narrators as well as the scholars who collected the ahadeeth.
As an added benefit, you will learn the methodology of defining words in Arabic along with their opposite. The key grammar or language points of each hadeeth will also be examined. This will illustrate that our beloved Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) spoke classical Arabic that was grammatically correct.
These lessons are an excellent foundation for the serious student who understands the importance of learning with the intent of studying the entire Medina Books collection, insha Allah.
