The Dawah tu Salafiyyah Sisters Book Club (DTSSBC) was
established in New York City in March 2003 in a sincere attempt to
address the saddened condition of the Muslims, sisters in
particular and the Muslims in general, on an individual and then
collective basis. We also decided that making monthly worksheets and puzzles would not only help ourselves, but
our sisters as well, to remember and retain what has been read Insha Allaah. Alhamdulillaah this has been working very well by Allaah’s permission. So much so that we decided to help
sisters who have been and are incarcerated by doing the same for them, and
in doing so, this encouraged other sisters to take interest in Dawah tu Salafiyyah Sisters Book Club. Alhamdulillaah, By Allaah's permission, DTSSBC has become a very well known Book Club amongst the Muslims Worldwide. We pray that Allaah azza wa jal has mercy on us, makes our intentions purely for HIS sake ONLY and allows all to benefit from our efforts, aameen. Assisting Those Incarcerated:
Once we established a relationship with some of
the incarceration institutes, we asked if we could send them books, khimars, prayer rugs and
Al-humdillah permission was granted. From this we helped to develop Salafi libraries at two correctional facilities. We must say that
this project could not have happened first and foremost without the
permission of Allaah and then if we did not have the support of
the Salafi Sisters E-groups. And because of this, many of the sisters
were able to benefit from this noble effort. Students Funds: We currently work together with Al-Hujjah Publication to help aide the young brothers and sisters of the New York community to go
study abroad yearly and when they return we provide them with jobs at
Umm Kutubah’s Salafi Books Store. We have plans to send others to
study in Yemen Insha Allaah, so that they too can come back to the community to
teach the people. Monthly Meetings: We began having monthly meetings so that we could go over
the worksheets of the various books to ensure that we all understood
what we have read and to encourage each other to implement what we have
learned, and this helped to ensure that we stayed on a topic that will
help benefit us all. The monthly meetings were going so well
that we decided to meet twice a month. And during the summer months
we would have book club picnic meetings, this way the whole family
would be involved. Publications: Alhamdulilllaah, by the grace, mercy and permission of Allaah azza wa jal, Dawah tu Salafiyyah Sisters Book Club has published it's own Book as well as E-book with more publications to come Insha Allaah. Browse our "Our Publications" section for more info. Weekly Classes: We have established a connection with our noble brother Mustafa George as well as one of the
sisters of Yemen thru one of our sisters who is a member of DTSSBC.
Thru this sister we learned from books such as An-Nawawi’s Forty
Hadeeth and Bulugh Al-Maram and from this we were also able to
benefit from the knowledge of Umm Salamah As’Salafiyyah (hafithahillaah). We ask
Allaah that he allow us to continue to connect our sisters to those
of knowledge. Monthly Telelink Seminars: We were able to establish a relationship with Umm Ahmed Salwaa (hafithahillaah) of Madinah, Saudi Arabia as well as Umm Abdir Rahmaan Al- Imaam
(hafithahillaah) and her husband Ash-Shaykh Aboo Nasr Muhammad Al-Imaam (hafithahallaah) of Yemen. She and her Husband agreed to give
the sisters Bi-monthly talks and Q and A monthly. We have even been granted permission to call for advice concerning how we as sisters
should continue our efforts to help the sisters here in the west. We have also established monthly tele link classes with Ash Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Al-Aqeel , Ash Shaykh Abdus Salaam As-Suhaymee, Ash Shaykh Saalih As-Sindee, & Ash Shaykh Abdul Malik Ramadani. We ask Allaah that
he continue to allow us to assist our sisters in the Haqq and that
what we do is pleasing to Allaah
and know that “There is no glory
and honor for the Muslims, except by returning to learning Islaam on
an individual and collective basis, acting upon” His,
azza wa jal,
saying: إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا
بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ "Verily! Allaah
will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not
change their own condition” (by committing
sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allaah). {Surah Ar-Ra’d:11} All of these achievements by the Grace, Mercy, and
Permission of Allaah azza wa jal and we remain thankful to HIM
subhanahu wa ta'ala. |
