In the Name of Allaah, the most Merciful,
the most Beneficent. All praise is due to Allaah, Lord of the
Worlds. There is no other worthy of worship, except Allaah alone; He
has no partners. Peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, , his
blessed family, and his noble companions.
One
does not have to look very far to note that today’s Muslims have
lost their glory. Recent events of the not so distant twentieth
century and current events of this century, point to the frailty of
this Ummah (Muslim community). Hardships have befallen the Muslims
both individually and collectively, locally and globally. In a
nutshell, there are two basic reasons for this weakness. Firstly,
this Ummah has failed to seek and to obtain true knowledge of this
Deen (Islamic way of life) based upon guidance of Allaah, the Most
Merciful and the Most Generous, as indicated in the Qur’an.
Secondly, it has fallen short in adhering to and acting upon the authentic Sunnah (way) of our beloved Prophet, , his blessed family, and his noble companions. Therefore, it is
imperative that Muslims correct and discipline themselves before
such a time when no one will be able to correct nor act upon
anything, as Allaah, the Master of the Day of Judgment says:
“And what will explain to you what the Day of
calamity is? It is a day whereon men will be like moths scattered about.”
[Surah al-Qariah: 3-4] Also, Allaah, Exalted is He, says:
“But no, by your Lord! They cannot truly believe, until they make you (Oh, Muhammad) a judge
in all
disputes between them, and find in their souls noresistance against your decision, but accept it
with complete submission.”
[Surah an-Nisa: 65] Therefore, the Dawah tu Salafiyyah Sister’s
Book Club was established in March 2003 in a sincere attempt to
address this saddened condition of the Muslims, sisters in
particular and the Muslims in general, on an individual and then
collective basis. The Book Club welcomes the Muslimah to become
members and to meet once each month to engage in lively discussion
of an assigned selection with the focus on implementing this Deen in
their lives by adhering strictly to the Quran and the authentic Sunnah of
the Prophet Muhammad, , his blessed
family, and his noble companions. Henceforth, the following is the
vision and mission of the Dawah-tu-Salafiyyah Sister’s Book Club:
-
To encourage sisters to reflect on this pure
Deen by seeking and learning correct Islamic knowledge,
-
To
discuss how sisters can implement and act upon this knowledge in their daily
lives, -
To establish a sisters’ study circle that
inculcates teaching good reading and study habits, -
To share da’wah information with those who
seek true and pure Islamic knowledge.
The rationale for starting the Dawah tu Salafiyyah Sister’s Book Club has already been established
and commanded by Allaah, the Mighty and the Majestic, in His saying:
“Verily! Allaah will not change the condition of a
people as long as they do not change their own condition of committing sins and by being ungrateful and
disobedient to Allaah.” [Surah Ar-Ra’d: 11] Also, from The Methodology of the Saved
Sect, the author, Shaikh Muhammad bin Jameel Zaynoo, states on page
19:
“There is no glory and honor for the Muslims, except by
returning to learning Islaam on an individual and collective
basis, acting upon His saying: “Verily! Allaah will not change the
condition of a people as long as they do not change
their own condition of committing sins and by being
ungrateful and disobedient to Allaah.” [Surah Ar-Ra’d: 11] The Dawah tu Salafiyyah Sister’s Book Club
invites all sisters to share its vision and mission. Join DTSSBC Today!!!
